CMRL graduate students Amirala Bakhshian Nik, Mohammad Shaver, and Denise Hsu presented their research at SB3C 2019 Summer Biomechanics, Bioengineering and Biotransport Conference in Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Pennsylvania. Mohammed gave an oral presentation and Denise and Amirala gave a poster presentation. Congrats to all for presenting their hard work!

PhD students Valentina Dargam and Amirala Bakhshian Nik represented FIU at the Florida Statewide Graduate Student Research Symposium held at FIU in Miami, Florida. Valentina won 1st place in the category of Health Sciences and Life Sciences for her poster on diagnosing early aortic valve disease.

CMRL graduate students Valentina Dargam, Daniel Chaparro, Amirala Bakhshian Nik, and Mohammad Shaver presented their research at FIU’s 2019 Graduate Student Appreciation Week (GSAW) Graduate Symposium in Miami, Florida. Amirala and Valentina won first and second place, respectively, and will representing FIU at the 2019 Conference of Florida Graduate Schools on April 18, 2019.

Undergraduate Daniel Chaparro presented his research “A Rapid and Accurate Assessment of Aortic Valve Leaflet Curvature” at the 8th World Congress of Biomechanics in Dublin, Ireland. Daniel was the recipient of a travel award to attend this conference.
